Quicksand: The First Swedish Netflix Original Series

The bestselling novel Quicksand (Original title: Störst av allt) by Malin Persson Giolito became the first ever Swedish Netflix Original Series in 2019. The book was adapted into a limited series with 6 episodes and became one of the most viewed non-English language series on Netflix to air that year.

Camilla Ahlgren (The Bridge) adapted for the screen, Per-Olav Sørensen (Nobel) directed, and Malin Persson Giolito was an Executive Producer on the series which featured a star-studded cast, including David Dencik (Chernobyl, Tinker Taylor Soldier Spy) and Evin Ahmad (Snabba Cash) and introducing Hanna Ardéhn and Felix Sandman.

Quicksand was first screened at the 2019 Berlin International Film Festival.

Quicksand Named Best TV Drama at Kristallen Awards

At the Kristallen TV Awards 2019, Sweden’s official television prize, Quicksand was nominated in three categories: Best Television Drama, Best Actress in a TV Production (Hanna Ardéhn), and Best Actor in a TV production (Felix Sandman). The show took home two awards: Best Television Drama and Best Actress in a TV Production.
