Henrik Hollbox
HENRIK HOLLBOX (1971) was born and raised in the small town of Ljungbyholm, just outside the city of Kalmar. After completing his studies, Henrik moved to Stockholm, where he first worked in a bookstore before holding several roles at multiple major publishing houses.
In the early 2000’s, Henrik debuted with the novel Ivory Black at Wahlström & Widstrand, which was followed by two standalone novels. All three were written under his previous name Henrik Kullander.
Henrik Hollbox now returns with a gripping suspense series rooted in and around the area where he grew up. The Swedish rights to the first three books have been acquired by Norstedts, with the first book published in April 2026.
Evoking echoes of David Lynch’s iconic Twin Peaks, this new series blends intriguing characters with haunting settings. In addition to this, Hollbox masterfully weaves suspenseful narratives that blur the boundaries between reality and illusion, drawing readers into tight-knit communities in the idyllic province of Småland where secrets abound and everyone knows everyone.
Reviews
“[…] a novel that invokes goosebumps and a racing heart, a suspense novel that leans toward a horror story with Gothic elements. […] The finely crafted main characters are Nancy de Vries, a Stockholm journalist who returns to cover the case in an attempt to save her career, and Ola Berg, Felix’s father. Over the course of a few increasingly sweltering weeks, they try to uncover the truth together and find themselves caught up in dramatic situations along the way. The precise imagery is captivating and brings the characters, places and atmospheres to life.”
