Catrin Ormestad Interviewed by Swedish Newspaper
Catrin Ormestad has been interviewed by Swedish local newspaper, Gefle Dagblad, in connection with the launch of her latest novel, Daughter of the Sea. The interview touches on Ormestad’s fascination with nature, islands, and great love stories, all portrayed in the novel. Ormestad also shares some details about her process when writing the book. Here’s a glimpse into what she had to say:
“I haven’t been able to let go of this woman, this shy, wild woman who lives alone on her island. I’ve returned to her throughout the years, and I’ve written the novel over from the beginning at least four times. […] It resulted in a deeper story portraying the love between this woman and her nature, and the birds she saves [rather than a simple love story between a man and a woman].”
Daughter of the Sea was published in Sweden by Bazar Förlag on August 13th, 2026.
