Emma Bouvin Awarded the Nils Horner Prize
Emma Bouvin has received this year’s Nils Horner Prize for her work as Middle East correspondent at Dagens Nyheter and the jury’s motivation reads as follows:
“For her ability to illustrate the horror of the Israel-Hamas war with a personal style and strong empathy for human suffering on both sides, while also analyzing and expanding the big political consequences and events on the battlefield.”
On Monday evening Emma Bouvin attended the prize ceremony to accept the award in Borås, the hometown of the deceased journalist. Nils Horner was killed ten years ago while on a mission in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan. The prize aims to honor the legacy of Nils Horner, and those working in his spirit, by emphasizing coverage that focuses on the lives of ordinary people.
