Euphoria Featured in The Times
Elin Cullhed’s bestselling novel Euphoria has received a rave review from prestigious Times Literary Supplement:
“Elin Cullhed’s novel Euphoria […] embraces its own status as a piece of mythography. […] This is the portrait of an emblematic young woman struggling to combine marriage and motherhood with a creative career. Although Plath was subject to the punishing gender roles of the 1950s, Cullhed avoids too much historical specificity, thus universalizing the protagonist’s experience. I suspect that this book – already a prize-winning bestseller in Europe, where Plath is perhaps less well known than in the English-speaking world – will speak to those young women who even today feel relationship equality faltering once babies come along.”
Euphoria was published in the UK by Canongate on October 6th.
