Film Adaptation of ‘Brightly Shining’ Awarded Prestigious Prize

The film adaptation of Ingvild H. Rishøi’s critically acclaimed novel Brightly Shining has been awarded the prestigious  International Critics’ Prize at the Schlingel International Film Festival for Children and Young Audiences. The jury’s motivation reads as follows:

“In her first feature film, director Ida Sagmo Tvedte portrays a story that stands out from the usual family stories. […] The story is told in colorful and realistic images, where the director manages to steer clear of Christmas movie clichés. This film is not limited to a young audience. Everyone can enjoy the film and benefit from it.”

The winner of the award is chosen by the International Federation of Film Critics and their jury.

Brightly Shining will premiere in Norway on October, 17th.
