Film Adaptation of ’Brightly Shining’ Nominated in Several Categories for the Amanda Award
The film adaptation of Ingvild H. Rishøi’s acclaimed novel Brightly Shining has been nominated in several categories for the Amanda Award. The Amanda Award, established in 1985, is Norway’s most prestigious film and television-award. The winners will be announced during the annual ceremony at the Norwegian Film Festival in Haugesund in August.
Brightly Shining is nominated in the following categories: Best Costume Design, Newcomer of the Year, Best Children’s Film and The People’s Amanda.
The film, directed by Ida Sagmo Tvedte and co-written by Rishøi, premiered in Norway on October 17th, 2025. Brightly Shining was produced by Motlys.
