Hunger Praised in Rave French Review

Lina Nordquist’s highly praised novel Hunger has received a rave review from French news magazine L’Express:

“With her first novel, physiologist and politician Lina Nordquist strikes high while reminding her fellow countrymen of the dark past of their welfare state. […] In this story that revolves around a family farm inhabited by three generations, two voices take turn: Unni, who was pursued by a priest’s hatred and fled from her homeland of Norway, in 1897, and Kåra, the daughter-in-law of Unni’s son Roar, in 1973. Two voices that unite to form this searing social chronicle against a background of nature writing. […] a Nordic tale that is deeply moving.”

Hunger was published in France by Buchet/Chastel on March 16th.
