Jens Liljestrand in Extensive German Interview
German newspaper Buch Markt recently published an extensive interview with Jens Liljestrand about his novel Even if Everything Ends.
Here is an excerpt from the interview where Liljestrand discusses how the idea of the novel came about and why the climate crisis is important to write about:
“[…] It is a poignant, abstruse climate- and family novel about our present: how are we supposed to continue living and loving while threatening heat waves and other crises are already our reality? […] I wanted to tell a story about the climate crisis as a part of our everyday lives, not as something that is a sudden chock. A story about the abnormal as something normal.”
Even if Everything Ends was published in Germany July 27th by Fischer.
