Kyrre Andreassen Awarded the Library Literature Award
Kyrre Andreassen has been awarded the 2025 Library Literature Award for his bestselling novel Not People I Can Depend On. The award was established in 2022 by eight of Norway’s largest libraries, who wanted to create a new award based on the values of Norwegian libraries as cultural institutions and their integral role in society. Each year, the prize is awarded to a Norwegian book published within the past five years, across any genre.
The winner was decided through a public vote, and Kyrre Andreassen received the award during a ceremony on October 20th, 2025. Here’s a glimpse into the praise from the statement released:
“[…] a gleaming and energetic novel that is full of life. With this book, Andreassen introduces a familiar theme in a new, unique way. Between the covers, we find both rage, humor, and tenderness, and Linda Hansen is a literary character who you never want to forget.”
Not People I Can Depend On was published by Gyldendal on August 8th, 2024.
