New Book: In the Shadows

Today marks the publication day of Frida Skybäck’s third installment in the Fredrika Storm series, In the Shadows.

During a sweltering night at the end of May, a young student at Lund University vanishes without a trace and the case swiftly lands on the desks of police investigators Fredrika Storm and Henry Calment. They soon discover that the missing woman, Isabelle Karlsson, had attended a party at the infamous tech company BubbleBuy the night of her disappearance. Both the company and the CEO Martin Zenberg deny knowing Isabelle, but as Fredrika and Henry’s investigation deepens they find Isabelle’s missing phone at one of the company’s apartments where the young CEO spends much of his time. Has Martin something to do with Isabelle’s disappearance?

Skybäck skillfully leads the reader through a suspenseful narrative of secrets, sudden death and revenge. In a precise and poignant prose, Skybäck asks the question of how far someone is willing to go to keep the past buried.
