Swedish Praise for Film Adaptation of ‘Brightly Shining’
The film adaptation of Ingvild H. Rishøi’s bestselling novel Brightly Shining has been lauded in a review from Swedish newspaper Arbetet:
“In the end, the film is more lighthearted than the book, but carries the same important portrayals of alcoholism, child poverty and compassion. As important themes this Christmas as any other! The children who play Ronja (Luisa Idrizi) and Melissa (Anna Drakopoulu Sverrirsdóttir) are fantastic, as is the story […]. With that said, this is definitely the top pick for Christmas movies this year!”
The film, directed by Ida Sagmo Tvedte, premiered in Norway on October 17th, 2025. Brightly Shining was produced by Motlys.
