‘The Book Cabinet’s Secret’ Published in Italy

Frida Skybäck’s third feel-good novel, The Book Cabinet’s Secret, is out in Italy today, July 2nd.

In The Book Cabinet’s Secret, we follow Rebecka who, upon receiving the shocking news of her grandmother Anna’s illness, makes the hasty decision to travel to the south of Sweden. While cleaning her grandmother Anna’s house, Rebecka finds an old diary, letters and a photograph of a man in a book cabinet. Seeking answers, Rebecka begins reading the diary and the letters. A tale of love and loss during the Second World War unfolds, detailing the story of young Anna and Luca, the man from the photo, on a mission to smuggle Danish Jews across the strait. What danger awaited the pair, and what dark secret has Anna been hiding all her life?

Here, Frida Skybäck weaves a heartfelt tale over two parallel timelines, which explores the effects that wounds from the past have on us in the present and the very human need for reconciliation. A grandeur story that captures the very essence of sacrifice and love.

The Italian edition of The Book Cabinet’s Secret is published by Giunti.
