‘Will You Care If I Die?’ Announced for the Screen
It has just been announced that Nicolas Lunabba’s bestselling and critically acclaimed book Will You Care If I Die? is currently in production to become a feature film, set to premiere in fall 2026. Nicolas comments in a press release today:
“It’s very exciting – and a bit daunting – that our story is now going to be made into a film. It was probably the last thing we imagined, Elijah and I, when our lives intertwined during those rather chaotic years in Malmö. Even when Will You Care If I Die? came out, I didn’t think anything like this would happen.
Director Rojda Sekersöz (Young Royals) adds:
“After six years of TV-dramas I have been waiting to return to feature films, and when I was asked to direct Will You Care If I Die?, I was immediately inspired. I want to create a film that is warm, sad and at the same time genuinely funny. You know those films you want to watch over and over again just to relive those feelings again? This will become one of those films.”
She is joined by screenwriter Wictor Ericsson (Halfway to Heaven, Strawberry Days). The film is produced by Nordic Drama Queens and will be distributed by Nordisk Film.
Filming is scheduled to take place during summer and fall of 2025. You can read the full press release here.
